Officially Back to Vista

After a few weeks of trying the outstanding Windows 7 beta I repartitioned my drive back to 250gb. of Vista. I did,however, install Windows Live Writer again for my blogging.

How YOU can get the Windows 7 Beta

If you would like to try the windows 7 beta, follow these steps (These steps are based on windows Vista PC’s):

1. Go to http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/beta-download.aspx  and scroll down until you find where to choose your system type.
2. Most people have x32 bit systems but to check go to Start>Control Panel>System and Security>System
3. Download the beta (should be an ISO file)
4. Get a blank DVD
5. Burn the ISO to the DVD by using your own program or downloading this ISO burner for free: http://files.uberdownloads.com/software/burners/infrarecorder.html

NOW PREPARE YOUR PC:

This is where it gets tricky. First, you must back up your PC. This can be done by searching “Backup” in the start menu then choosing your method of backup. Then, decide what specifically you want to do:

Install Win7 over your old system:This will erase your old system so you must be positive you want to do this

Cut your hard drive in half and install Win7: This will shorten your hard drive capacity but you will still have your other OS (operating system)

After you have decided, follow these steps:

If you choose # 1: Restart your PC with the DVD you just made and start your installation. Your done!

If you choose #2:

1. Search computer management in your start bar and click the first one

This should come up:

2.Click on Disk Management on the right pane

3.Find your main or C disk,right click,and click shrink volume

Something like this should come up for a few minutes

Next, something like this will pop up…mine is very small because I already split in in half:

4.It should automatically give you an amount, but if it doesn’t enter the amount in the second box in the 3rd field (look up) then click shrink

5.After that finishes, give that space a letter (AKA: J), restart your system and install win7 on the new drive you just made.

Halo 3: ODST Info

There will be a new Halo game called Halo 3:ODST (originally Recon). In the campaign you will play as a soldier called “the Rookie”. From what I hear (unreliable source) you are a survivor from a crash and you must battle through Covenant forces to find other crew members. The release date is Fall of ‘09…I also heard there will be new achievement types plus a Mythic Map pack. If you would like to clarify any information feel free to leave a comment.

Windows 7 Beta limit removed

 

Microsoft had originally wanted to limit the availability of the Windows 7 beta by only allowing 2.5 million users to download it. This morning they announced they will remove the limitation for 2 weeks. So if you really want to try the beta, now it the time!

Windows 7 Beta review..

I was one of the lucky 2.5 Million  people to download the Windows 7 Beta Build 7000. So far the beta has been very simple. Here are some of the features I truly love:

When you first get the beta running, it will look something like this(Ignore the programs I have running):

If you have two programs running and you want to view them side by side, simply drag the windows to the left and right:

Also, on the new IE8 Beta, you have a new web slices feature that lets you few search results OR even an Ebay item your watching:

Last but not least, they have a new file sharing system called Home Group:
